ELSTREE AERODROME

CAFE

This project in Elstree was conceived as a refined yet inviting hospitality space, where classic materials meet contemporary detailing to create a layered and memorable experience. The design balances warmth and structure, combining rich timber flooring with soft, ambient lighting to establish an atmosphere that feels both elegant and approachable.

A deep navy palette is used strategically throughout, adding depth and contrast while allowing lighter elements such as marble surfaces and upholstered seating to stand out. The café counter becomes a focal point, defined by fluted panelling, brass accents, and a sleek stone worktop, bringing a sense of understated luxury to the space. Behind, arched wall features introduce rhythm and architectural interest, softly illuminated to enhance their sculptural quality.

Seating has been carefully considered to support both comfort and flow. A mix of intimate two person tables and more open arrangements allows for flexibility, while curved upholstered chairs add softness against the clean lines of the layout. The adjoining lounge area offers a quieter, more relaxed setting, where textured seating and framed artwork create a more personal, boutique feel.

Throughout the design, attention to detail is key. From the integration of lighting to the selection of finishes, each element works together to create a cohesive environment that feels curated, functional, and effortlessly sophisticated.

GAZING BALL

BAR

The Gazing Ball Bar at the The New York EDITION is inspired by Jeff Koons and his iconic Gazing Ball series, translating the artist’s playful yet reflective aesthetic into an immersive hospitality experience. The design combines surrealism with luxury, creating a space that feels both theatrical and contemporary. Mirrored surfaces, high gloss finishes, and sculptural forms reflect and distort the surrounding environment, echoing Koons’ fascination with perception and viewer interaction. Rich metallic details, dramatic lighting, and bold pops of colour enhance the sense of glamour, while the central gazing ball inspired installations act as focal points that encourage social interaction and visual engagement. The bar blurs the boundary between art installation and interior space, capturing the energetic and sophisticated atmosphere of New York nightlife while celebrating Koons’ exploration of reflection, illusion, and spectacle.

URBAN JUNGLE

PARK PLAZA

This Williamsburg apartment embodies New York’s signature industrial aesthetic with a refined, modern twist. The space is characterized by a bold palette of black marble, slate, and lime-washed walls, creating a raw yet sophisticated atmosphere. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows frame the cityscape, while ribbed glass partitions subtly divide the living areas, adding depth and texture without compromising openness. The striking double-height living space features a sleek, dark fireplace set against a textured stone wall, emanating warmth and elegance. Leather furnishings in deep burgundy contrast with the cool-toned materials, adding a sense of richness and tactility.

Throughout the apartment, industrial elements like exposed steel beams and lofted mezzanines celebrate the building’s heritage while integrating contemporary luxury. The kitchen and bedroom continue the material narrative with ribbed glass cabinetry, black marble countertops, and metal accents, ensuring a cohesive design language. Ambient lighting, seen in vertical sconces and sculptural fixtures, softens the otherwise edgy aesthetic, creating an inviting and intimate ambiance. This design seamlessly merges Williamsburg’s industrial roots with a sleek, modern adaptation, offering a high-end yet character-rich urban retreat.
